Issue 11, Friday 25th July 2025
From the Principal
Yura families,
Before we move into the Weekly Video I wanted to take this opportunity to give you all a gentle reminder to please take some time to check what your child is doing online. It's important to know which apps they are using and, more importantly, which message groups they are part of.
We have become aware that some senior students are involved in group chats where inappropriate language is being used. These conversations are happening outside of school hours, but they can have a real impact on students’ wellbeing and relationships at school.
As always, we are committed to working together to keep our children safe—both in and out of the classroom. Your involvement in monitoring and guiding your child's online activity is essential.
Please take a moment this week to:
- Check the messaging apps your child uses (e.g. Snapchat, Messenger, Messages)
- Review their group chats and who they’re chatting with
- Talk with them about respectful and appropriate online behaviour
Thank you for your ongoing support in helping us build a safe and respectful community for all students.

Update regarding OneSchool report cards to Gmail accountsOn 26 June, some student Semester 1 academic reports sent from OneSchool were not successfully delivered to parents and caregivers with Gmail accounts. The department worked closely with Google to resolve the issue and resent Semester 1 academic reports to all parents and caregivers with a Gmail account. |

Lost property is located at the rear entrance of the Administration Building. Please remember to clearly label all items of clothing, lunch boxes and water bottles to assist with keeping lost property to a minimum.

Uniforms
Uniform Survey – Changes to Sports Shirts and change of colour for skorts and shorts.
The P&C Association in consultation with the Uniform Subcommittee and the Senior Leadership Team have been looking at ways to update our school uniform.
Last year the sport house logos were revamped, now we are asking for input from the school community to finalise the designs of the sports house shirts.
Other ideas that have been raised is to change the colour of the skorts and shorts to navy – like the tracksuit pants.
We have received several comments that navy would be easier to clean, and there were more options available to purchase navy alternatives at local shops instead of just at the uniform shop.
Considering that many families are struggling with the cost of living it is important to us to be able to offer affordable alternatives.
The final change that has been suggested is to a single-sided hat, it would be cheaper than the current hat and is adjustable.
All changes to the uniform will be communicated to families with plenty of notice. The process of designing and manufacturing new uniforms is not quick. We are mindful that families will have purchased new uniforms at the beginning of the year.
We anticipate that once decisions have been finalised the transition / rollout of any changes will take at least 2 years.
