Our year 5 students have been working hard on their Space Unit. Students were choosing two planets to compare features for a diorama for their unit on space.

Kindness Day!!!

From the P&C
Yura families
Well didn’t it rain last Saturday?! It was very disappointing to make the decision to cancel the Movie Night as we know everyone was looking forward to it. Good news though – we haven’t cancelled it altogether; we have just postponed it!! We are now looking at holding it in the New Year in Term 1. We might even be able to invite another special guest to ‘Hop’ in!!
Christmas Stall
It’s that time of year when we hold our traditional Christmas stall where the students can come and purchase some gifts for their friends and family. The stall is being held next Wednesday, 27th and Thursday, 28th November. This year, however, the stall is being organised by students from years 3 to 6 as part of a special interest club this term.
The students have been busy making items to sell (e.g. cards, snow globes, baubles etc.) and have also been learning how the stalls run such as ordering products, calculating profitability on items etc. The students have loved being involved.
Gifts will range in price from $0.50 to $7.00 and raffle tickets will be available for $0.50 each for one of the awesome prizes we have up for grabs. The raffle will be drawn on Friday, 29 November 2024.
Please remember to send with your child/ren:
- Notes/coins in a sealed clear plastic bag with your child’s name and amount printed clearly, so that, if necessary, we can help the children select the correct number of items.
- A reusable bag for carrying gifts home.
Vouchers can also be ordered through QKR. Simply log in to QKR, select Christmas Stall 2024, select your child’s name, Christmas Stall vouchers, then the $ amount. When your child arrives at the stall, they will be advised how much they are able to spend. Please note though no change will be given for the voucher. So, for example, if you purchase a $5 voucher and the item comes to $4, the remaining $1 we will be put towards raffle tickets for your child.
Donations for Hampers
If you would like to donate some items to contribute towards our Christmas Raffle, please drop these to Tuckshop before 3pm Monday 25 November 2024.
Baked Goods
We would love to have a yummy selection of treats to offer the kids to purchase. You can simply bring these to Tuckshop on Tuesday 26 November or up to the stall (in the conference room under the hall) on Wednesday or Thursday morning before school starts. If these times don’t work, please send us an email and we can help arrange this.
Our wonderful helpers assist children to pick their perfect present, restock the tables, write raffle tickets and be the cashier. It is a great way to get involved, have a social chat and meet some other wonderful parents. The children love seeing someone they know behind the stall. If you are available to volunteer for the stall even for a part day, we would love your help - please contact hilliardpandcfundraising@gmail.com with the days and times you can help or sign up using our online volunteer register (link below).
It would be wonderful if every family could support the students involved as they have been working very hard to create a successful stall.
Our next P&C General meeting will be held on Monday, 2 December in our very own P&C/Conference room which is located under the hall. Our traditional ‘Thank You’ party for anyone who has helped this year will be start at 6pm before a quick end of year meeting. If you have helped in any way this year, either in person or by donating to one of our events, we would love to have you join us for some drinks and nibbles.
If you have any questions about anything P&C related, please do not hesitate to email me at hilliardpandcpresident@gmail.com
Thanks so much
