STUDENT SIGN OUT PROCEDURES
If signing students out early, please come to the office for a leaving early slip, then sign the student out on the ipad and then collect your child/ren from the classroom.
QPARENTS
As you may have heard, this year we will be using QParents for our online permission forms. At this stage we have 71% of families that have already signed up, but we need that to be 100%. If you would like the invitation code to be resent, please contact the office. Another important detail for you to note, is that you need to set QParents up using a laptop. Once it is set up, you can then use your phone.
BOOK CLUB
We are looking for a volunteer to be our Book Club Co-ordinator. Karen Moloney, our current co-ordinator, will be here to train you and answer all your questions. If you think you may be interested in doing this, please contact the office.
Term 1 Events Calendar
District Swimming
Well done to all of the students who participated in the Bayside District Swimming Carnival held at the Sleeman Sports Complex yesterday. All of our swimmers represented our school with pride and determination to do their very best.Congratulations to Mia C who has been selected in the Bayside District Swimming team for 10 years girls 50M breaststroke, finishing 2nd in her heat and placing 2nd overall. Mia also finished 1st in her age group for 10 years girls 100M breaststroke.In the heat swims, each swimmer put in their best effort with Jack J finishing 3rd in the 11 years Boys 50M freestyle and Savanna finishing 9th in 11 years girls 50M freestyle. Hayden R finished 5th in his 50M freestyle heat and finished in the top 10 overall for 50M backstroke beating his own qualifying time. Chloe R finished 6th in her heat for 50M freestyle and in the top 15 overall for 50M backstroke beating her own qualifying time.All of the swimmers should be proud of their efforts today!

Uniform Shop
OPENING HOURS - THURSDAY 8:00 - 9:30AM
Hi there! I just want to quickly introduce myself as the new uniform shop convenor for Hilliard. My name is Chloe & I have been a Hilliard mum for over 6 years. I look forward to seeing you in the uniform shop & helping where I can.
Dance stockings have been delivered and updated on QKR ready to purchase.
The Uniform Shop is available for ordering through QKR! Just log on and select Uniform Shop. Whilst you can place your Uniform Orders any time of day, any day of the week, currently deliveries to students classrooms will only take place each Thursday.
If an item is showing as “Unavailable” this means it is currently OUT OF STOCK.
We are expecting deliveries of uniforms in the next few weeks. Stock will be added to QKR once they arrive and are available to purchase.
SECOND HAND UNIFORMS
Search and join the FACEBOOK group: “Hilliard SS 2nd Hand Uniform Sale” where you will be able to interact with parents of all grades selling and looking for second hand uniforms.
Please note that whilst we do our best to have all stock on hand at all times, sometimes due to circumstances beyond our control, some items/sizes may be unavailable. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Health Alert
We have received a reported case of Whooping Cough in our Year 3 cohort which is a notifiable illness as outlined by Qld Health. Qld Health has provided us with a fact sheet which can be found below this article. The document contains an outline of signs symptoms, treatment, transmission, prevention and other links. Please review this information and be on watch for the signs and symptoms. If we are concerned with your child’s health, we will follow our usual processes within the school.
If you have any concerns or questions, please ensure you contact your child’s doctor or Qld Health on 13HEALTH (13 43 25 84).
