Expectation of the Week
From the Office
Students arriving early: We have seen an increase in the number of students on school grounds, before supervision starts at 8.40am. Students should not be at school prior to 8.40am unless they are participating in a before school activity (including breakfast club), attending OSHC, or are supervised by a parent/responsible adult.
Absences: if your student is going to be absent from school could you please notify the office, as well as the classroom teacher, thank you.
Conjunctivitis: As a courtesy, we would like to advise that we have had a number of reported cases of conjunctivitis within our school community. We kindly ask that you monitor your child/ren for itchy, watery and/or sore weepy eyes, fo you have any concerns please contact your local GP as soon as possible. Conjunctivitis is highly contagious and if diagnosed chiledren will need to stay at home until medically cleared to return to school. Children infected with conjunctivitis are to be excluded until discharge from eyes has ceased unless a doctor has diagnosed non-infectious conjunctivitis. For more information please visit: https://www.healthdirect.gov.au/conjunctivitis

Your Kid’s Next Read Podcast
The Your Kid’s Next Read Podcast LIVE SHOW is coming to Brisbane! This event is for parents and caregivers, teachers, TL’s and all library staff – because we’re all on the same page (so to speak!) when it comes to encouraging a love of reading in our young people.
Join us for a very special evening with admins of the popular parent Facebook group and podcast ‘Your Kid’s Next Read’, Allison Rushby, Megan Daley and Allison Tait.
On Wednesday 13th September at 6.00pm, these three beloved Australian authors will meet on stage at Lourdes Hill College, to chat about their upcoming books, the books YOUR kids and students should and could be reading and share tips and tricks about engaging readers. There will also be quality waffle and probably a side serve of bee chat from Megan.
This is a wonderful opportunity to hear about the wealth of great Australian literature currently available for your kids and students - and mine the depths of these experts' knowledge.
Come along and say hello! We'd love to help you find the next great book for the young readers in your life!
Tickets are $10
