From Coach Lee
Hi Hilliard School Community,
It's Coach Lee letting you know some happy and sad news.
I will be stepping up into a managerial role in the Fourth Quadrant company I work for that supplies and supports Student Wellbeing workers and Chaplains for schools. This means I will be moving out of the role of Coach at Hilliard State School. I have been blessed to have the privilege of working alongside a great leadership team and supportive work colleagues. I have been especially moved by the interactions and support of the wonderful students in our school. You truly have a special caring supportive school community that we all have a part in continuing to develop a culture that helps everyone grow and flourish in. I am happy to say that we have a wonderful replacement for my role, a young man name Jordan. I will let him connect with you in next terms newsletter to introduce himself. In my role of Coach/Chaplain Student Wellbeing support I will from time-to-time visit Hilliard which will be great to catch up with the school community whilst supporting Jordan in his role. So, it is with mixed feelings that I say see you later to everyone at Hilliard and wish you a blessed and bright future ahead.
Kind Regards Coach Lee
NAIDOC WEEK
From the P&C
Yura Hilliard families
What a fantastic fortnight we’ve had! And what a way to finish Term 2!
Trivia Night
Thank you to everyone who got behind the Trivia night, to volunteer their time to organise it, the teams and individuals that participated and the raffle participants. A good time was had by all involved, with a successful night of funds being raised totalling $1,500 for the Trivia and $1,646 for the raffle. Congratulations to all the Trivia Night and Raffle winners!
Sports Day
Another thank you for all the amazing cupcake contributions for each of the sports days! The creativity, and deliciousness were next level this year. Food provided via the canteen was enjoyed by many and again, thank you to the volunteers who helped provide sustenance to the athletes and spectators.
Congratulations to the cupcake competition winners! You have well-earned all the bragging rights. With so much support, we managed to raise a whopping $2,349.44!
Events like this help contribute much needed funds towards P&C projects, such as playground upgrades/refurbishments, educational assets such as apple pens, sporting equipment for students to access at breaktimes. Without these events, the amazing volunteers who get them going and the school community who participate in helping make them worthwhile, we would not be able to enrich the school experience for our kiddos, or the wider school community.
We really do appreciate all the effort and support received, and if you would like to get involved in future events or would like to know more about how you may help out here and there when you can, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us hilliardpandcfundraising@gmail.com. As always, the more the merrier, and many hands really do make light work.
Currently we’re gearing towards Father’s Day and asking for donations for the raffle, and any crafty-crafters out there who are able to whip something up at home and bring in to sell as stall items.
In the meantime, enjoy the holidays, and see you next term!
Thank you again, from the Hilliard P&C Association
Wonder Recycling Rewards
Thank you to the families who have brought in empty plastic bread bags and wrap packets.
Can you help us collect a further 15kg to help earn our school new sports equipment?
So far, our Hilliard community has collected one box/5kg of plastic that will be recycled!
Collection boxes can be found in the office or tuckshop until 7th July.
Containers For Change
Our P&C Coordinates a Containers for Change Queensland recycling scheme to raise additional funds for our school community.
There are orange bins placed around the school to collect any containers students might have at break times, or alternatively you can donate containers directly at any depot and use:
Hilliard State School Scheme Id #C10161576
This can be used across Queensland, so any family members further afield can contribute too. For more information on what containers are eligible, see www.containersforchange.com.au
