Playgroup
Parents and children aged 0-5 are having loads of fun on Friday mornings at Hilliard SS, when they come along to our community iKids@HilliardSS Playgroup!
Ms Hulett, our trained playgroup facilitator, loves sharing a story with everyone at the start of the morning, which is then followed by a number of fun, interactive, hands-on activities for parents to do with their child/ren. These activities are designed to promote development in fine or gross motor, language and/or social and emotional skills, which benefits outcomes of children in our community during their formative years. All families who will be, or are considering, enrolling their 0-5 child or children at Hilliard SS in the future are more than welcome to come and join us for playgroup. Playgroup runs from 9:00 to 10:45 every Friday morning, down in the Playgroup Room in the Prep area.
Clubs News - Yr 1/2 Gardening Club
One of our new lunchtime clubs this year is the Year 1/2 Gardening Club, which Ms Barron runs on Mondays. This club has been having lots of fun and doing some great work in looking after our garden areas near the Year 1 and Year 2 blocks. We are grateful to have our local Capalaba Bunnings store recently visit Hilliard SS with some plants and gardening equipment for our students to use. Thankyou Bunnings Capalaba!
P-2 Easter Hat Parade
Parents are invited to join us for our 2023 Easter Hat Parade, which will be on Thursday 30th March at 9:15am in the Hall.
All Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 students will participate in the parade. Students who do not bring in an Easter Hat from home will have some bunny ears or other sort of decorated headwear that they have made in class.
All Year 3 - Year 6 classes will attend the parade to watch as audience members. Parent seating will be available at the sides and across the back of the hall. We ask that parents are respectful during the parade, and do not walk out in front of classes or other parents' view. Privacy rules will also apply, so please ensure that you do not take photos or videos of other children while at school. Thankyou for your support, so that we can continue to have this as a fun event at Hilliard!

- Phone calls, especially for important and/or timely communication (sick child, head injury, behaviour incidents, unpaid invoices etc)
- Email - we know phone calls from the school can be alarming! We will email for; low medication alerts, excursion / camp letters, class news, permission forms, system generated invoices, or if we have been unable to contact you by phone.
- SMS - For unexplained absences
- Newsletter - fortnightly on a Friday, sent via email - https://hilliardss.schoolzineplus.com/subscribe
- Apps:

Water Bottles
Could you please ensure that you are sending your students to school with a water bottle. We have far too many students coming to school without water in this hot weather.
Thank you!

Detailed information will come in Term 2 regarding the 2022 Mother’s Day Stall so keep an eye on your emails and Facebook. Gifts will range in price from $1.00 to $8.00.
Donations for Hampers
If you would like to donate some items to contribute towards our Mothers Day Raffle hampers, please drop these to the Tuckerbox before Wednesday 3rd May 2023. Some examples of items include pamper items, bath items, movie tickets, coffee sachets, chocolates, stationery etc.
If you have a talent and would be willing to make some items to donate for the children to purchase at the stall, we would love to hear from you.
We are bringing back baked goods for the stall. We would love to have a yummy selection of treats to offer the kids to purchase. You can simply bring these to the Tuckerbox on Wednesday 10th May or up to the stall Thursday morning before school starts. If these don’t work, please shoot us an email and we can help arrange this.
Our wonderful helpers assist children to pick their perfect present, restock the tables, write raffle tickets and be the cashier. It is a great way to get involved, have a social chat and meet some other wonderful parents. The children love seeing someone they know behind the stall. If you are available to volunteer for the stall even for a part day, we would love your help - please contact hilliardpandcfundraising@gmail.com with the days and times you can help!
Thank you for your ongoing support of the Hilliard Primary P&C Association.
