Issue 6, Friday 2nd May 2025
From the Principal
Yura families,
Fun Run: This morning’s Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 Fun Run was a fantastic celebration of energy, encouragement and school spirit. The sun was shining, the weather was perfect, and the cheers from students echoed across the oval as every runner—no matter their pace or ability—was celebrated with genuine enthusiasm. It was heartwarming to see our students not only cheering loudly for their friends, but also showing quiet kindness and support to those who needed it, creating a truly inclusive and uplifting atmosphere. Parents lined the track with smiles and encouragement, adding to the joyful buzz of the morning. A huge shout out to Nikkita for her incredible organisation and effort behind the scenes and to all of the staff for assisting her and making the morning memorable.
Winter Uniform: As the weather cools, we’d like to remind families that students must wear a school-coloured jumper without a hood. "Hoodies" are not part of our uniform and are not permitted at school, as the hoods can pose a safety risk if pulled. Students are welcome to wear stockings or tights underneath their shorts or skorts for extra warmth, but these should not be worn on their own. Please note that leggings (footless tights) are also not part of our uniform unless worn with shorts or a skort over the top. We appreciate your support in maintaining our uniform policy and keeping all students safe.
No Dogs on School Grounds: A reminder to all families that dogs are not permitted on the school grounds at any time, including during school drop-off and pick-up. While we understand many pets are much-loved members of the family, this rule is in place to ensure the safety and comfort of all students, staff, and visitors. Some children may feel anxious around dogs, and even the gentlest pet can behave unpredictably in a busy school environment. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in keeping our school a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
Please watch our latest video with two new producers.
Enjoy the long weekend,
Leanne Witham
